Default Theft Prevention

It is becoming very apparent that Type R theft is a major issue. After searching for on theft prevention the only information to be found is "Never leave your car running unattended, always park in busy well-lighted areas, ... ect." Yes, this topic has been covered recently. Although much better to be covered again then see more ITR's stolen. Please post as much information as possible.

This is one of my newer ideas...

Epoxy a piece of steel on the back of the bumper cover above where the hood latch is. I've seen a couple cars lately with cut bumpers there to access the hood. I think this might be a pretty good deterrant... Thoughts?

If a theif wants your car, they will get it. plain and simple. If you have insurance, make sure you keep all your reciepts, and pray that it doesnt get jacked. If you get robbed, hopefully your insurance will cover some of the hard earned work you put into the car. You can put all the anti theft devices you want on your car, but that doesnt stop them from just coming and towing it away on a flat bed or tow truck. ****** theives

What is to stop them from cutting around the steel, unless you steel back your whole bumper.

I say Impliment a stun gun on the driver side seat when the car's auto alarm has been tampered with.

Hey if you wanna keep the R , u gotta take the chance of accidentaly getting 10,000 volts on your nuts when the security system happens to glitch while driving.

I don't know. But about a 12" x 12" piece of plate would be pretty darn effective I would think. The thief may not have the time or patience to go looking for the edge of the plate...

If you're going to go through that much trouble, you might as well weld a steel box around the hood latch instead.
