Default 97 ITR connecting rod bearing question

I am rebuilding my engine for boost and noticed that the #1 rod bearings are different because one half calls for a green bearing and the other half calls for brown one. I dont understand why there are two different size bearing on one connecting rod! WTF???? The #2,#3,and #4 rod bearings are all brown (same sizes). The motor has never been taken apart before so it isn't a mistake from someone else. Any input would be helpful.

#1....W 24 = green,brown
#2....X 24 = brown, brown
#3....X 24 = brown, brown
#4....X 24 = brown, brown

just a tighter clearance.. you can mix bearing sizes as long as they are only one color away.. green to brown..

There are a couple bearing color charts in this thread.
