checking timing?
is there any way possible to check the timing on a d16y5 with no timing belt cover?i cant think of any way. im gonna get the covers eventually but im trying to set my base timing to help with tuning
Generally speaking you want the #1 cyl at TDC.
(on most d series engines this means the white timing mark on the crank pully will be straight up)
Set your cam gear so the leters "up" are readable and the 2 lines are parallel with the top of the head.
Put your timing belt on and let er rip.
