i just purchased a clean 93 del sol shell for $700. what motor is the best and cheapest one for me to throw in there... i would rather have a dohc that plugs up with no check engine light.

if its already BAR'd for a gsr, why not get a gsr?
if not, throw in a d16z6. save you some money.

 

You can pick up a b18 for somewhat cheap. And a b20 for even cheaper. 500 dollar b20 block + 500 dollar complete gsr head = gsr killer

thats not it you need all the little ****. i have a complete b16 swap that came outta the del sol. comes with the rare shift linkage and p30 ecu. its a complete swap everything you need to swap into your car. hit me up lmk

How empty is this shell? Does it still have an wiring harness/ECU/etc.?

If it's completely stripped, a D-series would be easiest to put together because the parts should be easier to find. If you find a Sol at a junkyard, 99% of the time it's an S or Si model. You're going to need a ton of Sol-specific pieces, so you either need to find a donor car, buy them from a dealership, or troll eBay for eons picking up the bits here & there.
