Default Questions after installing skunk2 proseries coilovers

Hello just installed skunk2 proseries full strut coilovers. Vehicle is a 93 civic hatch. ive installed suspension items before but never full coilovers. the problem im facing is it seems like the strut is protruding to much out from the strut mount top. and i actually think i smacked the hood last night driving, was wondering if anyone has had this problem with these particular struts or maybe know a general answer for something i may have done wrong.

any info or pics would be much appreciated.

| | <--- so u have the flat line which would represent the
| | strut top. then the line going vertical which represents the
| | strut rod or piston whatever you want to call it. well the
{ } vertical line which the nut goes on is protruding about
{ } 2 inches higher then normal honda struts.

you forgot a washer... take it all back apart or at least the ones you are having a problem with... there should be a washer that slips onto the strut before you put the tophat on

i used the 2 washers that came in the top hat packs. was a coppper one and silver one. the order i did was silver washer-tophat-copperwasher=nut.

their is 4 spacers/washers that come in the adjustable wrench package in the kit, which i didnt use on the front and still not sure what their for. their about 1/4 inch thick.

my kit included

front/rear struts
front/rear spring
a box with 4 top hats individually wrapped with 2 washers in each
and a bag with adjusting wrenches with 4 spacer/washers

well the only way your strut will shoot through your tophat is if the washer is either wrong or you didnt put it there... thats about all i can think of though

ahh i see what you guys are talking about. nah what i mean is when i tighten down that top nut it seems as if the strut is sticking out more then usual.

oh... yeah they will do that, its not a stock strut. the skunk2 probably just has a longer rod or more threads. if that is your only concern then its fine
