TIMING BELT PROBLEM...
You should use the belt from whatever bottom end you're using. Was the new head you installed decked at all? I had my GSR head decked like 3000's of an inch and it was extremely difficult to get the timing belt tensioned correctly.

no, the new head is stock... came off my buddie y7 taht he swapped for a mini-me... i'm just using his y7 head because my b7 head had a chipped valve and was burning oil... anyways i'm still using the b7 timing belt and it IS wayy TOO LOOSE...

obviously the smaller one. haha, but really, it shouldn't be loose, remember to check and make sure you don't have to change the pully on the crankshaft. you really should just get new pullies that go with the motor that the head came from, that is if you already haven't.

the only thing that was change was just the headgasket and the head... everything else is the same... so the pulley has only to do with it... but after some research on d-series.org... they say to use the z6 timing belt which is 104 teeths, like the y7 and y8 belt. the b7 belt have 106 teeth (i think) so i'll have to switch the belt to a z6. let let you guys know if it works or not. oh, and according to a member in d-series.org he say that the y7 head on a d15b7 will bump compression up by 0.9, is that right?

yep, the z6,y7,y8 timing belts works. the motor feel a LOOOOT stronger than before w/ the Y7 head...
some stuff i ran into was the top right head bolt has to be a y7 head bolt then all the rest is B7 head bolts. i think that about it.
