Default battery relocation

I just relocated my battery to the back...and ran the positive straight to the starter then I ran a different wire from the fuse box to starter...but should I get an inline fuse?........and do I want the fuse as close to the battery as I can get it?....also what size should the fuse be and where can I get one?

You want the fuse to be as close to the battery for possible and I think I ended up with 150 amp fuse, I'll have to check. I used to run smaller ones but within three starts the current draw of the starter would fry them

I don't use a fuse. From the factory there is no fuse from the positive cable to the starter.

Yeah but the wires are also like 6" long, under the hood and suspended in the air. When you start adding 15' of wire that is in the cabin and underneath the carpet, your just ******* praying for a fire. The benefit of having a fuse is so it will blow if something shorts instead of heating up your positive wire, possibly starting a fire in your cabin. I used a 60A fuse when I relocated mine. If they would have had them I would have went with a 80A but the 60 does just find. 300 is way too much.

That's a good point, but I have all the wire wrapped in wire loom and secured, so it isn't moving around rubbing. It sould be fine.
