Why the staggered set-up? Anything over an 8" wide wheel is tough on a TL. I personally have 18x8 Volk gt-p with a 49 offset and I'm lowered with no problems at all. A 19x8 with a 53 offset is about the max for a TL. It all depends on how low you want to go...but a 9.5 wide is definetly out of the question.

Actually a 19x8 plus 53 would tuck way under the car fine. I run 19x8 plus 40 Privats on 225/35-19s lowered w/ Eibachs w/ no real issues. I just test fit a 20x7.5 plus 45 w/ 225/30-20s last weekend that actually fit even better.
On a TL and RL anything above 40 offset works great from 7.5-9". 9.5 plus 53 should actually work, close, but should work. It'll prob. sit right at the edge of the fender.

^^^^I'm sure that didn't happen without some surgery to the fenderwells. Well, at least its proof it can be done, with a little modifying.

I"m sure with that drop and wheel selection he had to cut the inner lip out of the well completely.

i apologize for the thread jack...but...

considering you guys seem to know alot about what all this offset stuff means, i have a question.

Will the new TL rims fit in my 94 vigor (after doing a 5 lug conversion that of course)?

Should fit fine. What are you taking the 5 lug from?

It should fit easily with rolling the fenders. I have a 95 Accord and I have 17X8" rears and I have a **** load of room to go wider on mine. Its all about offset.

94-97 Accords can take a lower offset than the 98-up Accords/TLs/RLs.
They have more clearance and less scrub issues whn it comes to wider wheels and lower offsets.

Well, considering that i believe the brake set up is the same from the 90-97 Accord, i am going to use the 5-lug swap guide that is in the Accord Forum........that is, unless you have a better idea or vehicle to use it from (no sarcasm intended).

Acura Legend, I guess that's worth a shot. I hope it works well...throw some NSX calipers on it.

funny thing. i considered using the 5 lug set up from a legend, but was advised against it. i think it had something to do with the fact that the legend wasn't rotor over hub (or hub over rotor....which ever one is suposedly better). as for calipers, i plan on going with legend gs calipers for the front and most likely leave my rears alone. i'm unsure as to what rear calipers would be better. any suggestions?

i think i have more research to do as far as the 5 lug swap is concerned because to my knowledge, i haven't seen another Vigor with a 5 lug swap. if using the legend's 5 lug set up is possible, then i'll probably go that route considering it wouldn't be too difficult for me to find the legend parts.

What else is there to use other than the Legend?

mind you now, this is just by me assuming that the 4th and 5th gen accords use the same brake set up as the vigor, but i'm about 90% sure that they share the same suspension and brake set up.
