as some of you may know my midori green ek hatch was stolen earlier this year and i decided to get out of the honda scene. with that came a new car, a feeling of torque, and a little luxury that i haven't been used to althought i still miss her.

i'm looking at wheels right now and suspension. any ideas throw em my way. 5x100. i want have a jdm theme with it haha. i should be doing the headlights with black housing this weekend.

I did timing belt, water pump and thermostat and all that good stuff.

also last night i painted my headlight housing black with my brother. heres the pics.




i also painted the bumper turn signals amber to match the sidemarkers.



and also debadged the gti



wheels and suspension should be coming soon.


*EDIT* the build is over. i quit working on cars and decided to save up money for a house.

I like it Wheels and a drop. Get some Deep dish/ 5 spoke and front lip, then get turbo upgrade . Gti s are supper nice I love em, but their kinda heavy if you wanna track it.

 

what color should i paint my calipers?

aluminum-silver (already have the paint)
paintmatched red
gold
or jdm spoon blue lol.

 

imo,, dont do a jdm theme on a german car..

and the only way i'd do red "paint matched calipers" is if they were porsche big reds

good platform to start out on tho!

 

really the vdub scene is getting really ricey, not to say that jdm isn't rice but its more my cup of tea. they hate so much on amber sidemarkers saying theyre hideous but i like em.

Yea, I did the exact same thing when my 7th gen civic was run into by a drunk. I went and got a GLX VR6 Jetta. 3 months later I had my '00 GSR. Enough said...

Nice car though. I have to say I love the way that VW's look when modded, I just didnt like the performance as much as I thought I would. Best of luck to you

nice. mesh looks good on dubs but bbs' are outta my price range for right now. and a little played out.

i actually like the car, im starting to enjoy driving more.

i have a vwvortex account but i really dont like how their forum is set up. almost a little too organized haha.

yea part prices are insane coming from hondas into the euro world. i gotta get a timing belt done soon hopefully it will be just around 200.

lol i will never hate on hondas. my brother has a really nice jdm front dc2 that i was going to buy from him but i couldnt imagine what it would be like getting both of our cars stolen.

i need to find some good local shops. the ride is really nice right now and can take turns pretty tight but i still wanna do a bunch of suspension.

To the OP what kind of wheels are you lookin into? If your interested in any parts he still has some things like giac chips and what not

 

The GTI looks like it's in good shape.

...But still should have never switched camps.

12-second GTI? I have friends (and soon to be two of my cars) with all motor Honda's that run faster than your buddy's precious 'big-turbo' GTI. Nothing special to talk up something that has a big turbo and only runs 12's.

edit #2: any VW with some fat lipped wheel looks about 100X better than any honda with mugen or spoon wheels

lol I was hardly talking it up, however to talk it up, its not a "big turbo" like a t72 or anything, its just larger than the stock turbo and spools instantly, and for only runnin 1 bar of boost hitting 12's is pretty impressive. lol but regardless no civic is keeping up with that vw through corners.
Note: I love all motor honda's, congrats on yours it sounds impressive, im just trying to give the op something to look forward to in his build.
