s2k wouldn't steer today
so im in NJ and it feels like 5 degrees right now and my hands are about to fall off..
anyway, i warmed the car up to 3 bars this morning, then proceed to back up.. when i was trying to steer the car to the left, it seemed like it was 'locked' .. so i moved forward again to my spot, then backed up again and tried to steer to the right.. STILL NO GOOD
i would say the steering wheel rotates about 30 degrees on both directions, but then 'locks up'. and YES, i have the key in the steering column
my question is - has this ever happened to any of you? could this all be because of the freezing weather outside? she drove like a champ yesterday, but this morning, i had to take my CRV out to work

Either the steering column lock is broken (unlikely)
Or you have a leak in the P/S system which is causing morning sickness.
Morning sickness refers to P/S fluid getting gummed up from cold weather and making it hard to move the steering wheel on cold starts, but you must have a leak for it to still be a problem after the car is warmed up.

s2k has eps (electronic power steering)
Electrically Powered Steering System
In place of a conventional hydraulic system, with its hoses, fluid and power drain, the S2000 uses an electrically assisted power steering system. At low speeds, more power-steering assist is provided, which eases maneuvering and parking. As vehicle speed increases, less power assist is supplied, giving the steering a more direct feel.

yeah i was gunna say.....shouldn't have anything to do with the engine warming up or not. . . .
try checking the fluid leve...maybe it's low....maybe air in the system>??

Never heard of anything like it.
If it was a fluid related problem though, why did the CR-V work just fine? Warming up the motor doesn't "heat" up the P/S fluid, it just moves it around.
What I'm guessing is that there's a bind in the joints on either side of the EPS rack, either due to the temperature or a physical obstruction.

if it only rotates 30 degrees and then its completly locked nomatter how hard you turn. then its the steering column lock. bucause even if you have a malfunction in the power steering it would just make it hard to turn it would not lock it..
