I have owned my CRX since Sept 11 (what a date to buy it) and I have noticed a couple weird things about it. When I launch it it pops out of gear, one day the steering wheel is straight next day slightly left next day totally right. So I started investigating and everyone told me to buy mounts since I had what look like royal blue place racing mounts. Well one day I was pushing down on the intake manifold and heard a clanking sound. Turns out my front rear crossmember is trashed! Where the rear mount connects to the xmember all around it it like ripped or cracked horribly. So I was just wondering if I can unbolt the front rear crossmember and possibly replace it with a new one, or am I going to have to weld the old one and try to fix it?
You can put new bushings in it or you can get a new crossmember from several different suppliers.
i wouldnt bother trying to "fix" it.
just go to the junkyard and get a used rear crossmember. itll bolt in and out.
if there are tears or corrosion in the chassis itself, then youll need to just fix that with a good welder.

yeah, just get a junkyard one or good deal on ebay. If you had enough corrosion on the xmem around the mount area for it to corrode completely, I would imagine the frame runners of the car aren't in good shap either.
Man , you must have lauched the **** out of that gsr swap to gut the x-memb like that. i'd def go the replacement route with some good aftermarket mounts to help take some of the load off .

Get rid of the Place Racing mounts, get HASport or something of similar quality, I had the Place Racing ones in my first EF, the rear mount snapped, I got it rewelded and then my crossmember snapped. After that I got fed up so I went and got a used crossmember and HASport mounts, the mounts hold up great and have a great warranty too, they've been in 3 daily drivers for over 5 years and absolutely no problems.
