how many watt amp do i need to power 1 10" sub?

depends on the sub.

i have my infinity kappa 10" getting 200 continuous rms. 400 peak

thats like asking how much gasoline should you put in a car.. there are infinite amount of answers. stated above..depends on the sub..

And if you don't really know how loud, get a jbl 600.1 mono block. Gives you enough watts to play around with until you find out how loud you want w/o taking a big hunk outta wallet.
