GSR not getting oil pressure
Ok so today we went to fire my motor and we were getting nothing on the oil pressure gauge so we made sure the electrical connections were good, which they were...we pulled the valve cover and found not a drop of oil (yes there is oil in the engine)...The engine was just freshly built...I bought the oil pump in "brand new" condition off a member on here, I've already talked to him and he swears up and down that the pump is brand new from inlinefour and its never been used...Any ideas on what might be wrong?...I'm lost

did you prime the oil pump? If not, then it'll take some time for the oil to get into the all the passages. That's what a good assembly lube is for. Usually I spin the motor with the starter only hooked up (ECU unplugged, spark plugs out) until oil pressure comes up.

try starting it for a few seconds see if it reads pressure... i did the same thing....prime the oil a few times..and no pressure in the gauge...but started it up, instant pressure...sometimes it takes a lil more then just priming..
if you properly lubed ur cams when u installed them, it will be ok for it to run for a moment...just close ur eyes and turn the key over! then open ur eyes and look at the gauge...BAM! pressure...haha just try it man..

Same here. Took quite a while, but then again D16's hold quite a lot of oil in their crank girdle. BTW I suggest pouring at least half a quart of oil directly onto the cams. Filling it all at the hole only gets a small section. They don't need much oil though, as the motor cranks at ~60rpm to start, and the cams move half crank speed. They're also billet steel and work-hardened, so there won't be a big issue with wear.
