Default Need help passing emissions!!! My license is suspended!!!

Alright I need help passing emissions, apparently since I didnt take my car in my license is suspended. I actually havent driven my car for a few months so this news is surprising.

I have an 88 crx with a jdm 2nd gen b16 (94), I am OBD1 with a j-k tuning ecu, with just catback exhaust. I live in Illinois. So if anyone has suggestions or ideas at all PLEASE throw them my way

One of my friends had an ek with a b16a and had someone in chicago help him pass, so if anyone has experience let me know and we will work something out.

ok im sorry if any of this is incorrect but i have read alot of **** on here about smog by using the search button.

1. im a newb so dont get mad if im wrong
2.this is all heresay but....

the only mods you have listed are a ecu and an exaust sooooo...im assuming if you get your self a stock ecu and all your o2 sensors are operable you should pass right? just make sure your cat is good you dont have any exhaust leaks and you should be mustard. also ive heard that some times swapped cars dont pass the visual inspection because of the different motor. but in that case you can get it bar'd. and as long as your motor isnt stolen your good! ? ?

Thanks for input, but I would like to hear advice from someone who has experience with this. I have searched and I didnt find any helpful info.

But my car is stock OBD0, so me being OBD1 is a problem....right??

I have 4 ecu's, 2 stock crx ones, j-k one, and a pr3 JDM OBD1. The motor was bought from HMO as well.

Would me putting a crx one on the stock harness work with a b16?? Just basically take off the jumper and run a stock crx ecu??

This is illinois. You shouldn't have a problem as long as you have a cat. There is no visual inspection like that other dude said. If your car were turbo it would still pass if it's running right. If it fails then there is something that isn't working properly. The only thing I would change is the ecu to a stock b16 ecu.

If you've had a recent tune up, it should be fine. If not, tune it up, run some seafoam through it and use a product called Guaranteed 2 Pass, you should be able to get that at most auto parts stores.

They suspended your license for not going. Dude it's free and takes 5 minutes. Even if you fail you get like 2 more chances and they're all free.

Call them, I had the same exact problem. Except my license didn't get suspended because I called the number on the card within the like 3 month time window they give you and explained my car was inoperable. Call the number, figure out what to do, and go from there instead of asking on an internet forum.

BTW I thought IL was dropping pre-obd2 cars from the testing roster as of this year?

As far as passing, IL doesn't have the inspection like other states do, they just sniff the exhaust, check for gastank/gascap sealing, and check to make sure there's a cat on there.

I had a car that ran like ****, I pulled the check engine light out of the dash, and it passed, but barely. IL is pretty lax on their testing, so long as you show up.

I'm sure one of your friends can drive a stick. That's what I'm doing now, getting my hf through inspection. I don't have a license so I get one of my friends to run it through.
