ground it directly to the battery.

One goes to a switched power (ignition). Another power. Another ground. I got my power and ground directly from the battery. Ran them through a relay. I also replaced the wiring that came with the gauge with thicker gauge Monster wire. Not saying everyone should but that's what I did
