Default dc sports header not fitting?

Hey well I havent gotten around to put on my header that I got used off ebay yet. I put my car on ramps just to check out the bottom and I aligned the second header pipe (the one that connects with the cat) with the cat. I noticed that the end flanges of the cat and the pipe dont match up. (its like making an X)

the carb # is D-370-1 if that verifys its a D series header. any thoughts?

Well the commector part to the exhuat is usually different on some D-series like on B-series as well. Best bet is to have an exhaust shop custom the connector portion for you.

wow I havent heard of any customization of the cat ever. I mean, I thought it was all bolt up. So this means I have to go to a shop and have the cat rewelded at the connecter, so that it fits properly to the dc header. What about the ride home? wont that mean it wont fit correctly with the stock exhaust mani?

Not if you install/have them install the header, they'll need it there and installed anyways to figure out what position to reweld the flange on the cat.

Or just run open header home, won't hurt nothing but your ears.
