I was looking for the great sticky thread that had the error codes of hondas and their meaning, and also the basic troubleshooting guides to these problems.
Anyway, if it's still up here somewhere please give me the link to it.

i have a 4th gen, how do you read the codes? the paperclip method with the blinking lights?

and isnt the ecu in the kick panel? how do you access it? or do you do this in another location?

and finally how do you reset the codes?

 

Reset the ECU by removing the 7.5amp fuse (radio/Backup) in the under hood fuse box for 10 seconds. Hope you have the radio code, and write down the station presets because you will lose them. Here's a picture of the real thing. You can't see much of it, but it's hanging right where the illustration is pointing. Sometimes it is hidden behind the kick panel.
