i know i take the cover off of the cam gear. do i take off the valve cover 2? i know i have to take off the timing belt and pulley. what else do i have to take off. once it is off i know theres like 14 bolts and i side the shaft and cam in and bolt it back up. what are the other parts i need to take off?

 

I strongly recommend that you purchase an inexpensive Chilton or Haynes manual that will walk you through the process. It will also help with any other future projects.

 

i downloaded it. and the Search in it doesnt show up Cam and there is 1200 pages. ill try using it again

 

What you downloaded is the bootlegged Helm PDF, though it should still contain the information. The Chilton and Haynes are actual books available at most auto parts stores. The only reason I suggest a manual is because there are specific torque values and procedures that must be followed when doing a cam installation.

So you registered with Helm for their online service information program? Or did you download a PDF of the scanned manual for free? If you did the latter, then you have the bootlegged PDF as I stated, not the actual book. The information is the same, but the format and accessibility leaves a lot to be desired, as you found out.

 

Please enlighten on me how you use the search feature on a pdf. As a pdf is simply a picture of a scanned page - unless you're using recognition software I see that kinda useless. The picture of a word in a .pdf format is a far cry from the text form in a document such as an HTML page or a PHP database like this forum.

 

Actually it isnt just a picture, you can select certain words. If you want to search for words you press ctrl+f i believe.

 

i use acrobat reader. newest version has a search button at the top and scans all pictures and text for the word im looking for. and its book leg. but its the acutal thing
