Default exhaust help

i have a stock gsr exhaust manifold, and a obx high flow cat, and a stock gsr catback/muffler, i have the entire exhaust on but i can't seem to get the obx cat converter to the exhaust manifold, the bolts with the spring i can't seem to compress it and tighting it, any help on this situation? can i just use a bolt and nut instead of putting that spring in the middle?

The springs are there for a reason. I know some people don't use it but I wouldn't recommend it. Between the cat and the downpipe, how much space is between the two? Are you sure you purchased the correct cat? Does it measure 17 5/8" flange to flange? If not, you may have the wrong cat to fit your specific model of car.

Ok. Can you at least thread the nut on? What you may need to do is loosen the tension in your exhaust. What you may have to do is loosen the bolts the attach the downpipe to the header. See if you can get any play to attach the spring bolts. After that tihgten everything else up. When I installed my header, I had no issues with the spring bolts.

Is the cat seated properly onto the header? All you have to do is shove the bolt through the hole, push on the head to compress the spring and then put the nut on there.
