Did you replace your release bearing and grease the bearing and the shaft real well? Just a thought.

I've had that whzzing sound on my past two transmissions. One was on a Jeep, tho'. ;-)

Well, I've got that Si trans on my '90 hatch, and whenever I downshift, I'll get that sound. I always thought it was the synchros. I thought it was a good, healthy sound. May be wrong. Heh.

However, I do know for a fact that some transmissions are 'louder' than others.

yeh and when i down shift into second from fourth or from 3rd....itll do it in any gear if i dont shift....i had to get a new clutch for a 89 so it matched the flywheel and all....yes new bearings it dont do it in neutral so its not bearings...im gonna go to the shop put it on the lift and see wut comes outa there....if nothing comes out thnk i should just use 10w30 witch is a lil heavier and quiet it down?
