Well I recently drove the R and notice that when I am in 4th/5th gear I'll hear a grinding/whirling noise and the sound is louder when I am off the throttle . Only seems to happend in 4/5th gear though. However it is louder in 5th gear. Possibly my tranny is getting bad/ or I need to change MTF. Theres 112k on the car so maybe old age is catching up to it>?

 

 

When did you last change the MTF?

 

No clue, bought the car six months ago and havn't really driven it. however this problem didn't really persist until I recently droved it. bascially I don't know when it was changed.

Well I would'nt "droved it" anymore until you change the MTF, post back once you've done that.

 

No doubt, god only knows when the last time the tranny fluid was changed if ever,i know that was one of the firsts things i did when i bought my ITR...

 

tomorrow I am going to change the MTF so hopefully my tranny is ok. Please chime in if any if you guys know whats wrong with my car.
