Default ecu reset problem

ive got a chipped p28 ecu, OBD II to OBD I coversion harness, chromes engine management, etc... in what way can i reset this ecu. ive had a problem with a code 6 (engine coolant temp. sensor) ive acquired the plug along with the single wire for the sensor, resoldered it to the wire...but it seems that disconnecting the battery's hot wire, the ground and even both cables doesnt reset this ecu.

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

how long did you undo battery for?

i do 10 minutes, and i let the ground touch the power wire for a sec to ground any power in the wire

naw..didnt work

is there a fuse needeth to be unpluged?

Volts, on a milli. scale, increase as does resistance, at the time the cables are pulled from the battery left for a second then touched together. seen by a digi. auto analyzer (hand held volt meter) the values increase to a peak then slowly decrease, when ends meet, the values deminish completely. (gorunding them out)

Maybe you didn't fix the problem...

D/c either terminal of the battery for 10 minutes or so WILL reset the ECU.

Likewise, pulling the backup fuse (in the engine fuse box) for 10 minutes will do the same (reset the ECU). EITHER WAY will reset the ECU, no ands, ifs , or buts.

If you're still throwing a CEL afterwards you quite simply did NOT fix the problem...

say the problem wasnt fixed and i reset the ecu by pulling the cables and then reconnecting them. if i was to jump the wire at the ecu and turn the ignition switch to the on position the cel should stay lit, correct? no codes or flashing lights...Well the code is still there the ecu is not reseting.

WHAT TO DO THEN?

just drive the bas a d off a cliff.
its tempting me.

If a small little problem like a CEL makes you wanna drive your car off a cliff, PUT THE HONDA DOWN!!, or better yet give it to me lol.

just go through it systematically, and im sure you will find that the problem hasnt been fixed somewhere.

read your other double post and thought of something: try another ecu if you are sure you are resetting it and the problem is fixed.
