I'm looking for a free mod. My friend has the timing light and now i want to know how to use it. From you all I'v learned that 18 degrees advanced is good so now i want to know how to get it there. Pictures or Diagrams would help!!

Then whats good for I/e ignition and 93 octane on a CRX???

 

18 degrees is a lot if you're running the stock injectors. I've got mine advanced to the max and I'm still running rich. Remember that advancing at the distributor only adjusts the baseline timing and not the ignition curve. you've got to get into the ecu to do that. Good luck, pay attention and be very careful when advancing the ignition. The first time you here a ping, shut it off and retard the timing.

 

18 is fine. I set mine to 18 with intake and exhaust. Just make sure you use anything 91 octane or above or else you will here it knocking at WOT at around 3K RPMs until 3.5K and see white on the spark plugs. You will feel it when cruising on the freeway if you get on it.

 

18-20 BTDC on 87 octane

 

18* means your off by a tooth on the cam gear. dizzy only adjusts 5* +/- unless you pull off bolts and spin the bitch all the way around.

 

mine adjusts 10 degrees total.

I can go from 10 BTDC to 20 BTDC.
