Well, I will start by saying the i have had a problem with my car bogging at around 2 thousand rpm, but after 2 thousand pulls like normal. My car throws a code 43 after it has warmed up, but then goes away if i turn the car and off and won't come on for the rest of the day. This only happens every now and then also. So...... I have ran fuel injector cleaner, got new spark plugs, spark plug wires, new distributor cap, new distributor rotor, new fuel filter. etc. except a o2 sensor. So im lead to believe it is the oxygen sensor. So my question is can i completely disconnect the oxygen sensor. put a wideband in place and tune from their withought the stock oxygen sensor in place or any signal from the wideband being inputed to the white oxygen sensor wire to the ecu. Will this cause it to keep changing the fuel settings or will it mainain its tuned fuel settings that I have set? Thanks Guys...

wat computer are u using. because i'm not using my secondary o2. i put my wideband sensor in that location, but i'm also using chipped p28 (obd1)
if u're using the obd2 ecu, u will throw a code for not have the secondary connectted.

 

its your ecu or maybe your main relay is going to ****. i had the same problem before and i switched ecus and main relay and it went away

 

Code 43 can be alot of different things from gas cap isnt tight enough to not having the charcoal canaster. If your running a chipped ecu with an EMS then more then likely you can disable o2 sensor. When i tune i disable the o2 and take it completely off. Put my wideband in, do my tune then i put a cap in. If you run obd1 then you wont have the code 43 problem (ive only seen it on obd2 personally).

 

Doesn't sound like O2 sensor at all. Sounds possibly like a bad MAP sensor. Did you get brake cleaner in it? Anything foul touches the vacuum input of that sensor and it's toast.

I have an obd1 p72, and I'm getting code 43. Its the exact same as the other kid posted. If I let the car warm up before diving it, I will not get the code, if I start diving with no warm up time, I get the code.

I was thinking that as well. Also thinking the TPS sensor could be shittin the bed...

Well what did you check to see if you could fix code 43?

 

Well my main relay went this morning. I replaced that and havent gotten code 43 again. However, I do still have the hesitation problem.

I completely randomly gets code 43 too .

Comes on so random as in like it didn't come on for like 3 months - then it came on 3x in the same day.

No jerking, misfiring, etc. Queer ****. Pissing me off.

 

i take it you tune your own car. well, while your tuning it.....(using your wideband O2 instead of your stock one, and in open loop)....do you still have the hesitation problem? basically...when you eliminate the stock O2 do you still have problems? if you do, i would assume that would at least eliminate the stock O2 sensor.
