Default front bumper and body kit

Hello eveyone,

this is my first post here, and I currently own a 2002 s2000. I got in a little accident over the weekend (hit the wall of the exit ram in the heavy snow). BTW, I was caught in the snow, we all know that rwd doesn't mix with slippery road.

Anyhow, the front bumper is busted (the side fender might have been too), so I was wondering where I can get the replacement part for it??? I haven't try to call in the dealer yet, 'cuz I know the factory OEM part is very expensive.
Also, I'm planning to get a factory body kit for it, subtle and not too aggressive, also factory body kit fits right. But so far I haven't been able to see anything yet. The body kits that I saw in the gallery of this website is beautiful by the way. I imagine you guys must have had some really good body shop to put it in for you.

Thanks

what does it look like???
where can I get it from???
I also plan to get the full kit and this spoiler (http://www.handa-accessories.com/S2000/wing.jpg) for it. What rear bumper and side skirts would match this AP2 bumper with lip???

BTW, on the search, I found that for the 02 model, it would be an AP1 bumper right???

I don't even know what AP1 or AP2 stand for

AP1 is 00-03
AP2 is 04-07

The AP2 front bumper looks great on AP1s, and its a bolt on. you have to shave down the bumper support though...not sure if your bumper support is good still or not. You may have to get a new one, in which case i think you can order that for an AP2 also...someone correct me if im wrong.

The factory body kit consists of the lip, sideSTRAKES (not skirts) and rear spoiler. All of those put together will be over $1k, but are well worth it. You dont have to have a body shop put them on, because they just screw in. Though you may have to drill for the side strakes, and definitely for the rear spoiler. The rear spoiler also requires heavy duty springs for the trunk lid. Honda sells those and the removal tool, but i think most people omit those parts. The factory body peices come painted.

Buy factory parts. I think Honda dealers sell painted front bumpers and fenders. There's no quality like OEM quality, and you wont get the fit and finish of OEM parts from any other manufacturer. Make sure everything lines up correctly, and you're all set. No body shop involved....unless there's damage that's more than skin deep.

I got my factory lip from norm reeves honda (dch honda parts) and it was $370 shipped to illinois. They have AP2 lips for the same price. They also sell side strakes. Just check out their ebay auctions.

good luck!

hey B serious
thanks for the good info

it seems like norm reeves honda sale it for a lot more expensive than hardtopguy.com

does the lip fit on either AP1 or AP2 bumper???
I haven't look at the bumper support yet, so I'm not sure. I guess I would get a much easier picture once the bumper arrive and actually do the installation.

I guess even though OEM parts are expensive, but if the kit is bolt on, the result price is near the price of the after market parts plus the installation fee.

[QUOTE]

Well you have to get a AP2 lip for an AP2 bumper and an AP1 lip for an AP1 bumper. Go to the "clean s2k thread" to see examples of both and see which one you like.
