i have a 96 prelude si with jdm h22a, cai, apex ni exhaust, exedy stage 2 cluct 8.5 pd flywheel, v-afc, dc header, obd2 2 obd1 adapter, skunk 2 coil overs on koni adjustables. well my car is idleing like ****. it surges but not like an iac prob. a slow surge. and my plugs read lean no matter what i do with the fuel. now i had my head ported and polished about a year ago. had no prob out of it. i have replaced the iac map switched ecu injectors. some help would be great..

hey whats up. had the same problem. if its idling like round 2 to 3000 rpm its the fast idle valve under the throttle body. 2 hoses run to. they say to take the 2 8mm screws off n turn it clockwise 1full turn then a half a turn. try that.

yeah i have had the throttle body off and cleaned it. and the fast idle valve i allready adjusted it cause my car was idleing real bad when it was cold. so i turned it in all the way. i even went to the junk yard and got a used throttlebody and still have the same prob.

that FITV is a pain in the ***, i got mine adjusted, it was running fine then after couple days it went back again and idle is too low, it would go to 500. im getting tired of this, ill juz buy a new one. period. is it expensive? i havent visited honda parts recently.

i called honda parts today, they told me its 76 bucks but thats w/o tax, i forgot to ask if it includes like the little gaskets or o ring what you call. or the other way you could take it off and disassemble it and clean it with carb cleaner, thats what i read on some integra forums. i might try it this fri, disassemble and clean the hell out of it.

yes correct. i called honda parts, but its goin to be special order. when i asked about parts i always say from a 96 prelude dohc vtec because i have a 92 with a 96 h22a1 and i dont want them to get confuse with f22.

oh i forgot they're goin to ask to if its manual or automatic, well mine is automatic, i dont know if theres a difference in price. but i think it will make difference if you clean it and adjust it, it might save some money too.

some say it gets loose because of vibrations in the car like when u have catback exhaust or a loud system.

hey whats up. i just fixed mine by changin the whole assembly. its like 3 10mm bolts that hold it to the throttle body underneath. b careful tho cuz coolant does run thru it. also make sure u bleed the coolant system when u get erything hooked back up or it will do it again, but jus a lil bit. let me kno how erything goes.

also try sprayin starting fluid over your vacuum lines and where the intake man meet the head to see if u have any leaks. it'll suck in the fluid n act like it wants to cut off if u have a leak. so basically spray erywhere there is a gasket for the intake man.

thanx. i got a noob question, well i guess i havent did it before, how do u bleed your coolant? is it juz draining your coolant from the radiator? if that it then it will be easy for me.

how did it cost you to replace the whole thing? did you buy the whole Fitv? does include the gaskets on it?

mine barely does it, but ill still check on it and clean it.

thanx dude.

were your lower hose meets the side of the head around were the vtec selinoid is. thgere is a 12 mm nut coming out of the thermostat housing. it has a funnylooking top. that is the bleeder.warm your car up and crack it open. just alittle bit. let coolant come threw it for a few. that is how u bleed it...

For some reason with the stock FPR, my plugs were always lean and the fuel pressure was low on my car. I switched my B&M fpr over and the fuel pressure jumped
up to where it should be.

question about bleeding, do i open it and let all the coolant drain or juz a little bit. this is new to me so im going to ask some questions.

i made some test drives, it doesnt do it anymore much like before, but for some reason i get a CEL whenever i floored it staying on D4. but all i do is turn it off and start again.

this other guy in here saying its the intake manifold gasket, we could try that too.
im going to try to change the gasket.

goodnight guys or good morning.

well yesterday i took my FITV out and cleaned it, so i guess today im goin to spray starting fluid around the intake check for leaks and if i dont find ne then ima take the FITV back off and turn it down some more, and IF that doesnt helo then i guess the last resort will to be buy a new 1.... that IDLE is annoying, and it only does it if its cold out, if the temp outside is nice and warm i dont think that it does it, but when i start my car in the morning for work all i hear is that idle....
