with in the recent 2 weeks, whenever i shift into 3rd it grinds but goes in. unless i neutural from 2nd then wait a second then go into 3rd. but it doesnt do any grinds on any other gear. and it feels as if it just slightly scrach grinds while going into gear. like no problem goin into the gear. so i was wonderin if this would mean i need 2 replace my clutch or is it off and i need 2 get it adjusted or sumthin? lol.
i hav a 99si w. 84000 miles. so i guessed its just wore out. =P thanx in advance

grinds are from your tranny.. could be afew things IE not pressing the clutch (pedal) enough or leaking or need to bleed it or change tranny fluid could help... your actual clutch if it was bad your car wouldnt move or you would have to rev high b4 it catches.
most likely your 3rd gear synchro is going out...replacing it is going to cost a grip too. I'd recommend replacing your tranny oil with some GM syncromesh oil and see if that takes the grinding away. It might work it might not, really depends, some times it fixes the problem and sometimes it lessens the grinding. Do this first if it doesn't work then you'll most likely have to replace your 3rd gear synchro. Replacing a synchro isn't cheap...call up honda and ask how much the synchro itself costs. Then try getting estimates for the install, if the cost of synchro and installation is more than $500 or so you'd rather just get a new tranny.
