hondata glitch?

Default hondata glitch?

Tonight on my way home my car did something strange. I was at partial throttle in second gear at about 4krpms, I went to get on it and the check engine light came on and the motor shutdown, as soon as I let off the gas the check engine light went out and the motor turned back on and everything was fine. The car has never done this before. So my question is was it the s300 that screwed up or was it protecting my motor from something? My car and the mods are in my signature.

Couple things could have happened...

Over Boost Protection.
-The turbo may have boosted more then the intended setting on your boost cut setting, that would shut down the motor..
-If you are running your OEM Honda Map Sensor and over boosted as well over 11psi or so, it possibly would cut

I doubt that it hit boost cut at 4K rpm at part throttle.

The S300 has datalogging..why not datalog it..then you should be better able to analyze the root cause.

ive had a car do that bone stock. my problem was the main relay.

my car did the same thing last night at the track but around 6000 rpm's. why do you say it was your main relay?

well it could have been boost cut, bc maybe it built more boost than it did on the dyno at 4k?

Say hes boosting 10lbs, and a wot @4k, its 6lbs,(thats what its tuned for), But staying partial and than hitting the throttle did someting, i dunno.


Just thinking outloud really.

Are you saying its not possible to be partial throttle in 2nd gear, get on it WOT and not hit boost cut ?

I guess what needs to be clarified is what RPM did it actually shut off..

It was as soon as the turbo spooled, the car wasnt in vtec yet. Boost cut sounds like what may have happened, it has been very cold here lately. Thanks guys

No I'm not saying that at all. If he did indeed go WOT, then of course that's possible.
