Degreeing Cams - I'm confused about Skunk's method
This is taken directly from Skunk2's catalog:

Now, I'm a bit confused about Step 3:
A) You rotate the crankshaft until the pointer specifies that your cam is currently at the peak lift, which you know by the cam specifications.
B) After that, it says to loosen the cam gear bolts, and to rotate the crankshaft until the indicator is showing that the cam is at peak lift. Then tighten the cam gear bolt.
But I don't understand step B. If you already rotated the crankshaft and found peak lift in A, what's the point of B?

Step 3 says to rotate the camshaft after loosening the cam bolts. Not the crankshaft.
Part A puts the piston and crankshaft in the correct position. Part B matches that position with peak lift of the lobe.
