Default b16 mods>?

so i ahve a b16a1 in my 89 crx si and im planning on a port and polish and then a skunk2 manifold and throtle body but all this is going to be around 800 i was wondering if you have any other suggestestions of what i should spend my money on? after these things if i do them i was planning on a 50 shot or should i just get the manifold and throtlle body and just get a higher shot or is it gonna matter with the port and polish?

bigger cams will be the best mod imo for HP gain but youll loose more low end power but cams are the best mod for a n/a car thats already equpied with a decent intake manifold and tb

an incomplete statement.
Cams are good to an exctent. Have you herd the phrase build from the bottom up?? thats a good idea with a honda. Say this kid buys stage 2 cams and leaves his car like how he wants with a new TB and IM. Hes going to lose power bc his bottom cant suport it. Your compression ratio has to agree with your cams to GAIN HP. Cams are can be a killer for Hp gain's in some cases w\ the right set up almost 20hp. If your bottom end is stock, dont get any bigger cam than a STAGE 1, if you insist on getting stage 2 or three, your going to have to get a new valve train and bump up your CR. And use the search button b4 u post. Chances are its been coverd.

yeh hes right but stage 2 cams probably would be ok. Its not like a jdm b16a has 8.1 compression...but yeh for a street car thats fairly stock a set of stage 1 cams is probably the best mod. b16a already have good compresson, good intake manifold and tb already for that set up. Yeh if he goes with huge cams higher compression is needed and better valvetrain.

You will not lose bottom end power. Stop talking bout **** you don't know about. You want me to post a dyno of the exact setup you are talking bout? I did it. I gained power all the way through the power band with my old setup.

WIth just bolt ons I put down 141, 107 tq
With Spoon t-body, ITR manifold, Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, Port Polish Head, DC Header I put down 173, 114 tq.

I gained power all the way through.

if you want to risk it, ive herd dont go past stage 1, thats was told by me from David at RandD motorsports the winner of the Honda Challange in 04, and placed multiple times. I wouldnt trust stage 2 cams, you dont have the bottom end for that. But its your money so hey im not going to tell you wat to do,

Build from the bottom up is the best suggestion on here...
Get rid of the b16 block, you can put an LS in for half of your $800 and gains far exceed cost... completely worth it..

sense you are getting your head ported and polished its already going to be ripped off the block, instead of getting new pistons for HC. you can always mill the head a little bit. and you can still use stage 2 cams
