Default transmission swap

i've got an ek civic ex automatic and i'm in a little bit of a dilemma: i want to upgrade my car but i dont want to upgrade a car that's not manual tranny. thing is, i like the car i have, but it's primarily just the body so i'm thinking i can just do an engine swap and with a manual transmission. i just wanna know how much it would cost and what i would have to do, what engine would you swap with, and all that good stuff. thanks

Okay, I'm reporting this post.

There's PLENTY of engines you can swap in there and it hasn't been decided in a decade and a half and it isn't going to be decided in this thread which one's the best. All basic ones are available in manual trannies.

Hell, u can put a manual tranny on ur Y8 and boost it and run 200whp daily. Search before you ask these questions.

EDIT:
For the manual swap as long as ur doing the tranny you'll need:
- Manual pedal set (or independent clutch pedal)
- clutch lines including MC and SC
- shifter linkage
- manual transmission
- shifter
- manual ECU for ur motor
