Please help me fix this problem if you can:
I have a 200 ITR w/ a V-AFC, DC JDM 4-1, and Carsound cat. The cat is not hollowed out, it is fine, i.e. no check engine light. The VAFC has not been extensively tuned, i.e. is at or very close to stock settings. I failed NY emissions this morning because of hydrocarbns. The max is 220 ppm and I read a 316 ppm. Will leaning out the VAFC at low rpm's fix this? Will too much leaning do possible damage to the car even if only for the test? Any help would be appreciated, as I need the test soon, and as many of you from NY know, you cannot get on any of the parkways in LI these days w/o a cop checking for seatbelts, inspection, etc. Thanks.

Yeah, leaning it jut a bit (at least for the test) would probably do it.
It's not that far off.
I don't know how I'm going to get my turbo to "pass" this coming March fro my VA inspection....

Doesn't work that way once the computer test is done, believe me, the guy was cool and didn't want to fail me. Once the test is done, it's done. He had already hooked me up by not putting the car on the dyno for the full test and saying it had a ASR system because the spoiler was low on the front and he didn't want to scratch it getting the car on the rollers.
I dunno come to staten island and pick which place you want to get an inspection done. the first three or so months with the new computer they wherent doin anything but now forget it i know some guy a can call and ask him whats a good time to pick up my sticker.
And if you dont know anyone 20 dollars always works

someplaces got that all figured out the cameras on the machines cant see where the plume for the exhuast goes so they pull anopther car right near it at off view bring the hose to the back and put it over that cars exhaust.

Upstate has no emission test, it's only in the NY Metropolitan Area. It says whether you are or aren't in the area requiring emissions on the registration sticker. F#*ing NY.
I would say lean it out the AFC and then take it to the emissions facility that should pass you. Or you could find a shop that does work on imports anda lso does inspections. I know a friends shop in philly does that and well lets just say most people pass.
