I got a problem. I have a 91' Honda Accord LX. I'll start it in the morning, let it warm up for a bit, then leave. When I'm driving my little 5-10 minutes, it'll cut off completely and the oil and battery light will come on. If i let it sit for about 10 minutes it'll start back up. Sometimes it does this, sometimes it dont. What's up with that? Whats goin on?
This might be tough to "catch in the act".
You say when it dies the oil and batt light come on, so that leads to the ignition switch contacts are putting thru okay.
You could carry a can of carb cleaner and a spare spark plug, when the engine quits, stab your spare spark plug into a plug wire, crank it over and look for spark,
If you have spark, pull the air snorkle tube off of the throttle body, hold the throttle wide open, and spray some carb cleaner in and see if the engine tries to run from the carb cleaner fumes, if it tries to run then you know lack of fuel is the problem.
If you have a test light you can check for battery voltage at the Black/yellow wire of the dist plug with the key on.
Any recent work been done to the car?

yeah.... I'll see about that. The most recent car work was that i had an oil leak fixed. but it was doing this before that to. At some point it seem to stop but it just recently started back doing that again. We were tryin to figure out why the car was running hot also... the water pump is fine, the sensor is new, the thermastat has been replaced, a mechanic of the family said it's a flow problem? He said to check the radiator its probably blocked. what do you think?

okay so more on the stopping problem.... when it stops, i take the oil cap off the valve cover and leave it off for about 2 minutes then put it back on. So when i go back to start the car up, it just starts right on up, no problem. I'm guessing the oil can't breathe, sort of speak. but hey I'm at a loss. PVC Valve maybe? or what?
