Alright the car has been garaged up for a few months and shes just been sitting. So I just recently decided to start putting her back together but I am having a couple problems stemming from my cd player.
1. cd player stays on no matter what when face is completely connected.
2. When driving lights are on cd player turns off
3. Works without keys in ignition
4. it reads cds, problem is I have to shove a card in there to push it back a little further otherwise it reads and error. I feel if I keep doing this the cd player will break.
So if anyone has suggestions or advice, I would appreciate it alot. Thanks.

Is it an aftermarket deck? Sounds like your switched power and constant power wires are either reversed, or connected to the same wire which would allow the deck to stay on all the time. THe thing about turns off when you turn on the lights, there is a stock wire in the harness that reads as ground when the lights are off but goes to 12v when on..it triggers the illumination on the OEM stereo. You probably have your ground wire hooked up to that.
You didnt say if this happened before or if it used to work and now is happening after months of being garaged. If it used to work fine as is, then ignore me i guess. If its so jacked up grab a cheap cd deck when best buy or circuit city has a sale with free install and get it squared up right.
