VISUAL differences between manual and auto y8 mani?
so i have a y7 and heard that getting a tb and intake mani from an auto y8 is the easiest to swap. my question is, are there any visual aides to distinguish between a manual and auto y8 mani/tb? thanks...
look at the ports on the back for the iacv, there will be 2 spots for it, if its a manual the holes will be drilled all the way through and then the bolt holes will be tapped, if its an auto then the holes wont be all the way through and i believe the bolt holes will be there just not tapped
this site shows the difference:

in short:
manual y8 mani - 2-wire iacv is on the back, manual throttle body - no iacv
auto y8 mani - no iacv on the back, auto throttle body - 3-wire iacv (auto y8 tb looks exactly the same as the y7 tb, except the rotors are different directions)
yes, using an auto y8 mani and tb is easier on a y7
