Default Bought a wrecked civic, airbags deployed...help...

Hey everyone,

I bought a wrecked civic, I completely rebuilt the body and all that fun stuff. Now I need to replace the airbags. What all do I need to replace to get the job done? I have heard many things but no one sounded like they really knew. If you can help me out please do.

All you need is the airbags, nothing else should be damaged.

I called the dealership and asked, yea i know the dealership, anyway he said i have to replace the srs module or else as soon as i hook up the airbags they will deploy. I'd prefer not to eat an airbag, especially since i payed for it.

Why not try the junkyard for a civic with undeployed airbags and SRS module?

logically the airbag controller's sensors are tripped, so a new airbag will simply deploy if it's connected. If you can reset the sensors or the airbag controller then you should be ok. that is if the controller and sensors are resetable.

I have an entire airbag setup for an EG with module, sensors and harness that I'd let go really cheap.

some places won't let you buy them for the reason that they may not work. It's not the problem of buying the goods, i just don't know what all that i need. it's a 96 civic, will that harness be compatable? and how cheap?

just a hint for buying stuff on HT (too many scammers) Ask them what the product they are selling is before you tell them what you need. Relic is a good guy but sum1 else could have one from a ef, or hell not even have one and be like yeeeaaaah i got it for a 96. Then your fucked.

They're not used to "look cool". They're used as theft prevention.
