CF is strong but the bottom frame isnt made from CF. Its a fiberglass frame with CF on top. The latch is built onto the fiberglass part. Its weak. Go pull on a fiberglass body kit and see what happens.
I had a Vis hood with no pins. It never flipped or flopped.
I do remember one time when a muscle car guy try to do a Corn Cannon fly by on me on the express way and his fiberglass hood went flying off. **** was funny as hell.

it really depends on how the hood fits... if it fits good without a huge gap up front then you should be fine but ive seen some cf hoods that dont fit well and they have flown up...
carbon is strong but it wieghs very little thats why you run a cf hood weight reduction so sit a 75 pound rock in front of a fan blowin a hundred miles and hour then set one that weighs 20 which one you think will blow off first its common knowledge
i have one on my accord with stock latch and hood pins and the back of mine still moves up and down.
thank you

ive been having my CF hood since the first time i bought my accord and i drive very fast and the hood never popped up...but...i do hear it moving around alot and see it bouncing around from the force of the wind. im starting to consider getting hood pins to be on the safe side. i would get hood pins...
just cause it never happened to you doesnt mean it never will...
safety FIRST!!!

Dont take the chance of it coming off just because you think it looks cleaner without hood pins. Ive known to many people that have bought cf or fiberglass hoods and had them brake into pieces because they never got the hood pins. To be safe just go ahead and get them.
