screwed up speedometer???
My speedometer is off but in a wierd pattern. I have a picture of the dyno printout but i cant get it to copy into this post. It's like a bell curve.
-at 20mph it reads 24
-at 40mph it reads 34
-at 60mph it reads 46
-at 85mph it reads 77
so u see it reads too high at low speeds then drops to almost 15mph under my real speed and then comes back up. I've swapped my motor, tranny, and ecu since that dyno and it's still off i can tell. I'm assuming it must be something in the actual dash. anyone know whats up? (i wasnt worried about it at first but 3 tickets and a warning later I'm thinking I should check it out)

i believe you are right it is like a bell curve - from what i know there are two adjustable pots in the cluster - to set your speed - I have a similar issue but it's thru my own f'n that it got that way.
I have a 4ws lude with a swap (h22), and i live in canada...(and the car is originally from the us) so i wanted a cluster that matched it's attributes (ie: correct redline, and the 4ws indication light, and metric) - well i bought the jdm version off ebay - (rare to come across but had vtec and 4ws and metric) - neglecting to remember that it would be RHD - so i transferred what i could to the LHD casing - and so exists my speedo issue.....i haven't gotten any tickets yet tho - i sorta know the ranges - but it is getting retarded.
i noticed two pots tho when i was doing it - and think that would be the way to adjust out any differences.
so if there are any euro's out there with a LHD 4ws prelude with an EL cluster in metric! hit me up
haha. (yah totally unappropriate but still).

He replaced the tranny so it shouldn't be the VSS. What else are you using to measure your mph?

well i had the dyno done after my last speeding ticket but that was before my motor crapped on me and I did the h22 swap. Since then I havent dynoed it again but I can just tell that its not right. I dont know for a fact that its the same as before, but I know when I zoom past cars on the interstate and my speedo says i'm going 5 under the limit, somethings not right.
-no my wheels are stock(until tomorrow that is) but the wrong size tires couldnt cause a bell curve like that. It should be a steady increase or decrease.
