Default Timing Advance?

I just advanced my timing to 18 degrees. Here's my question, I had to move the distributor to the very end of the advance stroke in order to achieve 18 degrees. Anybody elses ITR like that as well?

It's not hard, all you need is a timing light. Make sure your engine is warm (rad fan running or has ran), ground out the service connector (the blue connector by the glove box), unbolt 3 bolts that hold the distributor down and move it till you got the desired timing.

Good stuff, I would like to advance my timing too... oh well. I'm patient.

Now I have a rough idea of how to, but I'm gonna wait until someone who's done it before can help me.

That being said, my car does feel more responsive and a slight hp increase (especially noticeable at about 7000 rpm).

Mine still has 2 mm left. The very end would be 21 deg on my engine.
