Had a question about rpm on an LS motor
Well I just finished swapping an LS motor into my 96 ek. However the ecu was not compatible because the motor was a 00'. So a friend of mine installed a obd2a motor if I am not mistaken and he said that solved the problem. Now my question is when am I suppose to hit the rev limiter on this motor at about what rpm? when does it redline etc because I was wondering from changing the ecu like that is that restricting the engine.
thanks,
thanks,
yeah it cuts out at like 7200, dont worry about going over that at all, i dropped a chipped p28 in my old car(just to test out for fun) with an ls and the engine was worthless past 7400 rpm. oem ls ecu is about as good as you can get for an ls motor
is it the right year ecu.. because i had a 95 gsr motor and i borrowed a p61 ecu which is for a 92-93 gsr and it wouldnt let me rev past 6800 untill i got the right ecu... just a thought
hmm see i had the obd2b ecu which wouldn't let me my engine run properly so my friend that did the install told me he installed a obd2a ecu so could this be the problem and if so what should i do?

thanks i guess ill try to buy one. Another question I need an intake for the motor currently im driving around with just the intake manifold and no intake/filter how vital is it that i buy an aftermarket intake or can i just get some cheap crap from ebay and throw it on. does it really matter.
i would def recomend putting one on soon.. your motor is sucking dirt and debris from the road and that is not good. the cheap ebay ones will work just fine
