Maybe your tach is a little off, but you're redline should be around 6300.

Re: 95 LS redline (bcpEG)
LS redline is 6800, not that you should need to rev the LS motor that high. Might be a bad ECU. Might be that your tach is off. What do you idle at?

My crazy little brother used to take his LS turbo swap past 7,000 all the time... so I would hope the redline's higher than 6 grand.

Re: 95 LS redline (bcpEG)
What wiring harness did you use when you swapped it? My stock VX hit rev limit at 6200 and my LS hits at 7200 on the stock VX tach. Are you sure it has a LS-P75 or does it have a VX-P07? What o2 sensor are you using? 5-wire or 4-wire? There are certain things that you have to do to VX's to get them to run right when you swap them. So you'll have to give some more info before we can help you.

Did you jump it to see if it had any codes? If you haven't jumped the ECU do that and it'll probably have a code or so even though your check engine light isn't on.

Umm, he said he was redlining around 6000, 6300 isn't far off from that. So it's feasible that his tach was a little off.
Tool.

Re: 95 LS redline (Lamchop0000)
Sure seems like you are close to where you should be. Yes Tachs are not always dead on.... especially with OEM.
As far as reving any higher safely, I think you just need some ARP rod bolts to hang around 7-8

Amen, the stock b18b redline is 6300. not 6800 or 7500

When I first got my Ls motor in my Ex coupe, Id take her to just about redline (6800) before shifting. That was a few years ago. Now that Ive learned over the past few years about the motor, I shift right around 6300, and it definatley made a difference in my 1/4 mile time. Have you tried opening up the ECU to check and see if any resistors or capacitors have blown or anything else inside it?
