Help with a strange problem...
Whenever my engine is warm but the car has been turned off, and then I turn it back on it revs up to like 1500rpms or higher for a minute or two. I've noticed that if I pulled the accelerator pedal up when it is doing that the rpms drop down to 800 where they are supposed to be. I guess something is in need of adjustment. What could it be?
the return spring in your throttle body has given out. You can stretch it back, but its a bitch to reassemble the throttle rotor assembly, and you might be better off just buying a new (used) throttle body. You should be able to find one in a junkyard for less than a hundred bucks. By the way, the zc and d16a6 throttle bodies are the same, although the choke switch is different, that only takes thirty seconds to change.
I found the solution.
When I installed my Neuspeed Strut Bar I had to move this bracket where the throttle cable kind of clipped to, well with the bar on I had to move this and it must have pinched or pushed the wire to far which made for about a 800 rpm difference. But I just unclipped it and now it is fine. Good Times.
