r18 rev limiter
i wanted to see what the rev limiter on my fg1 was like, since people here were talking about it but i had never experienced it. so, last night, i accelerated on the freeway in second gear, and when i went a little bit over redline, i felt a huge jerk in my car, as if i ran something over, and my revs just cut off. is it normal to have that jerk when hitting the limiter? i actually thought someone rear-ended me when it happened...
yeah.. I've never hit the rev limiter.. but from what you're describing it is like.. when you're looking for parking in 2nd (or 1st for that matter) and you let off the gas to let it drift.. and dbw kicks in and jerks you.. lol
when you bounce off the rev limiter...it stops you and just lowers your revs so that you can go past it. but yeah that jerking motion is normal just dont do it alot.

And why not? It's probably best to know the limitations of your car at some point or another. Although you should probably learn most of your cars limitations on a track...

yeah that pretty much sums it up, when i get a new car i like to test the brakes, abs, turning, understeer, etc, so this was just another thing to add to the list
