Default Sparks out of the Exhaust?

Long Story short, last night the guy who bought my old car (95 ej2 w/ JDM b16) was racing a 350z when the gas pedal got stuck to the floor. it bounced off of the rev limiter for a few seconds and sparks actually started shooting out of the exhaust... i'm telling him to pull the motor apart and check everything out before he takes it out again because i have never seen that before.... what should he look out for?

ran a search, only thing i came up with was the motor may be running rich.... any other ideas?

Maybe those were chunks of piston flying out of the tailpipe
Compression and leakdown would be a good place to start.

it drove fine for the rest of the night after that.... but leakdown and compression tests are definitely a good idea! i'm afraid to see the results cause i know he's been driving the hell out of that motor....

lol, gas pedal got stuck? I think that your problem lies with the stuck gas pedal... and not to mention the chunks of pistons flying out... lol, i'd say hit up the compression test and see what it reads across the board, GL

streetfire.net has a z06 on the dyno that shoots sparks then blows up on camera. search z06 problems on dyno.

could it have been peices of piston rings?

Maybe carbon if the valves contacted the pistons.
