need alittle help with my motor build..........
well guys i have search around everywere and haven't found the answer im looking for......sry if i'm just making another post about this.....i have a complete jdm gsr head and a complete jdm type r block that i got from a friend.....i was wondering what kind of CR i would get from this combination and has anybody done this hybrid ever cause looking for some dyno numbers as well.....also by doing this would i still be carb legal or not.....any info would be great thx.....o yeh if i didn't explain well enough ahahah feel free to point out my mistakes thx
with this combo would only bring you up a few points..
the gsr has a little less combustion chamber room (higher compression)
where the b16 and type-r use the same castings
as far as carb legal i don't know

ic well iam planning to swap type r internals and camshaft to boost it up some more not only that i'll be changing the type r pistons for civic type r's.....but wats the highest CR i can to still be able to use 91 octane gas thx
this one's for you, Mr. OP:

sounds about right with pct's
keep the jdm itr's or use p30's instead for a more sane c/r

yup i used to run this set up, the only reason it didnt ping or detonate on 91 audibly was because of the huge cams i was running. If your gonna run ITR cams then definitely just keep the ITR pistons

icic ahaha i guess all im making would be a poor mans type r lol.....but were can i get higher octane gas if i do go higher then 11.1 CR or can i still use 91 thx
humz.........1 more question doesn't the civic type r CR 12.1 right so don't it run off from 91 octane correct me if i'm wrong thx........o yeh nobody answer my question high high of a CR can i go before i have to use higher octane gas thx
you can concievably run 12-13:1 on 91 with good tuning and cams with lots of duration.
but just be safe and smart about it and go 11:1 and still make the power
