I posted this in suspension forum but it moves too slow, so thought i could get some help here.
Im debating whether to get Tein Flex 10/7 rates or 9/4 rates, or if its not worth it, just getting Tein SS's. I guess teins first generation FLEX's were 9/4 and 2nd gens. were 10/7. I think the 9/4 rates sound kinda strange... pretty far apart from eachother, meaning im probably gonna have to have a nice sway bar in the back to help out? I came across a good deal on some FLEX's w/ 9/4 rates but im not sure if should go with those or just Tein SS's with 8/6 rates.
The car its going on is a eg hatch that is a daily driver and will be taken to the track couple times a year.

I have 10/8 on my EG cpe. Not bad, a bit stiff for daily driving. If I drove it daily I would probably get tired of it but I don't so I don't mind.. .
The 9/4 - I wouldn't want spring rates that far apart for track driving. Beyond myself wanting more rotation than 8K springs on my rear, I've read about coil frequencies needing to be closer together in some racing books. I wont go into it here b/c I will probably screw it up.
The SS sounds the best as far as spring rates for street and the occasional track driving. I'd just beef up your sways to say the ITR bars front and rear pluss a rear subframe reinforcement and call it a day.
The Tein flex will give you more adjustability but if you never plan on tuning or changing settings much, you might as well save the money and get the Tein SS. As a rookie driver you need to focus more on technique then on suspension bump and rebound settings anyways.

i found a great deal on the flex's so i dont know if i wanna pass it up. There 9/4, and if i get them ill upgrade to 10/7 rates, but dont know if i have to revalve them so they can stand up to it, if i do have to revalve then it wont be worth it.
the fronts can probably take the extra spring no probem but the rears, I'm not so sure. 400# spring vs 225# spring ???
People get away with changing spring rates that drastic on Koni Yellows, but we aren't talking Koni yellows here. The Teins might be more "application" specific and are valved for a specific range of spring rate. I have no clue though.. .
How much are you spending on these?

you can probably peice together a NEW! Koni Yellow with GC coilovers and spring for around $900.. . GC and Koni have way better customer service than Tein as well. If you blow a shock by hitting a pothole, your out $100 instead of $250.. .
There should be plenty of dealers in the sponsors Marketplace offering deals on both peices.. .
