How many of you are not running torque mounts (both front, tranny and ac bracket) with your swap? Just wondering if it would be safe to run without them. Using 75a grade mounts for the other motor mounts btw.

if you want the motor to hit the hood.
I ran my car without the tranny side torque mount at the track for one event, I was launching at 6000rpm, and the motor/turbo manifold ripped through the hood of my freshly painted car.

I've got no ac mount and it works ok. I've seen a few trannies break off where the rear L bracket mounts due to a bad rear mount and lack of torque mounts, but if the rear mount was good, I doubt they would've had that problem. I guess it just depends on how you drive, if you're dropping the clutch at high rpms like the previous guy, I'd run them.

if u have hasports, other man mounts u should be fine.. otherwise ur hood will get hit by the motor. as the mounts are there to stop the motor from moving up and down and all around

I'm running Innovative mounts with the 75a inserts.

if you got the aftermarket mounts all 3 like inovative or hasport you do not need the torque mounts!

Ya, I don't trust removing the tranny side, and I would rather have the stiffer motor than loss of 5 lbs personally.
