i have the gsr swapped into my sol (obd2)
i found a obd1 ecu i could use. i was just wondering what might happen by using that ecu before cahanging the injectors dizzy ect to obd1 specs.

you can just get the obd2 to obd1 jumper harness

 

i have that, i was just playing with the idea to use odb1 to avoid throwing codes

 

if you hook up all the sensors that the obd1 ecu is looking for then u wont have to worry bout throwing a cell

 

dont think it would start, maybe throw codes, maybe fry the fing thing dont know try it

your saying that an OBD1 GSR ecu would fry what?

as far as im aware you can just plug and play and obd1 ecu in a obd2 car with a harness and it would run ok, but you may need to get it tuned up to it to run as you want it correct me if im wrong guys

 

plug and play with the ECU jumper, injectors and dizzy between OBD1 and 2 are interchangeable just different plugs

im not sure if you understood (the sol is obd1, the motor is obd2)

i have a jumper already to use the obd2 ecu... i was wondering what would happen if i don't convert to obd2 and stick with a obd1 ecu on a obd2 motor.

it will be fine they both use the same distributors and injectors just the plug styles are different, now if you went with an OBD2 ECU you would need to run the wiring for the crank angle sensor by the crank pulley because the OBD2 ECU looks for that
