whats the purpose of racing cam gears?

they let you dial in overlap of the cams as well as moving the powerband around some

how hard are they to set? I know you can loosen the nuts and adjust them but what are the basics of it all? I been concidering getting some & does it require any type of tunning?

from what i heard the right way to install this cam gears is to have someone tune your engine afterwards

in addition to my first post, i also want to know will u gain decent hp from upgrading your cam gears?

you need to have them tuned on a dyno. if you have big cams and pistons with a big dome, advancing them too far can lead to piston to valve contact. not good.

from just the gears on stock cams? not much. paired with bigger cams, varies.
