b16a question

Default b16a question



So the little thing i circled on my engine came broken off. What is it? Do I really need it, and where can i get one to replace it? Thanks alot guys!!!

Yeah I think it increases your rpm slightly when AC is turned on. If you dont have AC you dont need it.

If yes should I just cap off the nipple coming out of the plentum?

I have never seen it mounted vertically like that. I dont know what you would do for that exactly.

i think thats a 88-91 d16a6 intake manifold correct me if am wrong but this kid got a good question going i removed mine because i broke mines too?

the part you circled is for the idle rpm. my b16a from HMO didn't come with it and ran at 450rpm at idle!!! i think it's like 650-800 stock. The sideways one thats vertical is on a ls i know.

the term for the item is called a "dashpot"

what it does is slows down the throttle plate after you let off the gas.
so it dosen't slam shut and choke the motor.

search for "dashpot" with archive checked youll get some hits about them.
